Trying to find good learning tools for the littles can be hard sometimes. Trying to find the right ones that they will enjoy and have fun doing is also another hard task.
When it comes to learning I always like to have things on hand that we can work on throughout the day.
Even though Sweets is in school now I still think it is important to work at home and keep up the skills.
I love workbooks that you can use a dry erase marker on. That way you can just wipe away and do it again. With that being said I still do like paper workbooks as well.
With Sweets he is left handed so we really have to work on the writing. My husband and I are both right handed so I find it can be a little awkward sometimes trying to teach him how to write because it seems backwards to us.
Are you left handed or have children who are left handed? Did you find there was a specific way you learned how to write or helped you teach your children?
Anyways back to the learning books. Over the past couple years I have gone through so many books with Sweets trying to find the right ones that he will be interested in.
I have made a list below of our favorite learning guides to do together.
- Dr. Seuss Tell the Time: It’s time for fun! What time is that?
I love books that help tell time. These ones are great because it’s a story and it will get you to move the hands to the specific time they are talking about which is great.
- Learning Essentials Pre K
This book is awesome. It is a paper version. In this book they will learn about math, reading and writing.
- Scholastic Early Learners: Write & Wipe Practice: Get Ready For Pre-K
This is the wipe clean book. We love it, well Sweets REALLY loves it. He loves that he can write in it and then wipe it away and do his favorite pages all over again.
- Leap Frog Epic Kids Tablet
This one is not a book and can be a bit on the pricier side. However, it is a fantastic learning tool and what’s better is that they get so excited that they have their “OWN” computer. There are great learning games on here like word of the day and alphabet stew. It is great for travel it is small enough that it doesn’t take up a whole bunch of space in your bag. It comes with a rubber shield around it so that if they do happen to drop it it will keep it from breaking. You can also buy extra games for the tablet as well. So if they love Paw Patrol or Frozen or even Mickey Mouse there are games you can get. They also have getting ready for kindergarten games as well.
- Leapfrog Game: Get Ready for Kindergarten (For LeapPad Tablets and LeapsterGS)
Another great game for getting ready for Kindergarten.
- Wipe-Clean: Activity Flash Cards Letters
Flash cards are a great way for learning and getting their little brains to work on the spot. These ones are fantastic because they are the write and erase cards.
- Scholastic Early Learners: Flashcards 123
Another set of flash cards. These ones are not a write and erase but are still fantastic. I love the Scholastic learning tools.
There you have it my list of favorite learning tools for kindergarten and to help prepare for kindergarten. Do you have any other learning aids for your littles that you just love? Leave a comment below I would love to hear about them. These could also make great Christmas gifts as well.
